  9. The PLUS 8 MC multiport serial expansion board from Star Gate Technologies,
  10. Inc. provides up to eight serial ports for connecting printers, modems,
  11. terminals and other serial devices to host systems with Micro Channel
  12. Architecture (MCA). Designed to take full advantage of the MCA's more efficient
  13. data path, the PLUS 8 MC delivers the speed and performance of 16450-style
  14. boards with embedded intelligence -- plus it offers full-duplex communications
  15. with full modem control. Fully shielded cables and remote panel simplify
  16. connection to the MCA host chassis and allow use in harsh and noisy
  17. environments without data loss. Data handling is enhanced by two 8051
  18. microprocessors -- one on the board and another on the I/O panel. Easy to
  19. upgrade in the field, a four-port version converts to eight ports in minutes.
